David Burnside

David Burnside is an excellent Grade 1 piper with a wide range of experience.

David started learning to play the pipes when he was only 6 years old, starting professional engagements at the age of 14. Since then he has had a wide range of experience. This includes competing with Grade 1 pipe bands Boghall and Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band and the Clan Gregor Society. In 2012, David won the European and Cowal Championships with Boghall and Bathgate.

David has performed on-stage at the highly successful pre-worlds concert, at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall. His accolades also including piping in the bells on the BBC’s Hogmanay Live with Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham. David has also performed at the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Moscow Military Tattoo with the Scottish UOTC Pipes and Drums, as well as playing at weddings and other engagements all over the world.

With this wealth of experience, David is a top level professional, with an exceptional musical performance guaranteed. Both his Number 1 and Number 2 Dress is Ancient Hunting Fraser, primarily blue in colour.
